10.4.19 and 10.5.19 Tightlined Slam Tournament!

Some Fishy Dudes, right there.

Team Light Bite Charters was at it again to seal a victory in the Tightlined Slam Tournament to benefit conservation efforts.  We braved high winds, 3' waves and overall difficult fishing situations and came up short this year.

Saturday, we spent the morning in the islands plugging away and were rewarded with schoolie size bass to put us on the board.  Once the weather got better we hit up some bunker schools and connected with better blues in the 20-28" mark.  We made the run to hunt down albies, but could not make it happen because of how spread out and inconstantly they were popping up.  We hit up the bunker schools again in the afternoon and were rewarded with 29" blues and a 35" bass which awarded Jason Coleman of Salty Sea Tee Company the Largest Striper award.

Sunday, the weather was even worse than the day before.  We could not leave the harbor.  We were really limited geographically with where we can fish because of the high winds and fierce waves.  We braved the elements and eked out accouple more schoolie size bass, just shy of keeper size.

Another team won the title this year because they were able to locate bonito along with small stripers and blues.  There were NO albies caught during the tournament by any team.

It was a lot of fun and we will likely be doing it again next year.
