6.23.19 Keeper bass on Plugs

Even though the bunker bite ended a few weeks back.  There are still some small fish (keepers) that can be caught around the islands around sunrise, and sunset on plugs.  Fished with a good friend, Rich, who landed this keeper on a spook.

EARLY JULY -BASS BITE DIED (SUMMER DOLDRUMS SET IN)

The bass bite finally tapered off.  There are still some good fish being taken at night with bunker chunks, but the big "run" of bass on bunker schools as pretty much ended.  Occasionally I will hear of a good bass being taken here and there.  No reports of big blues...YET.

6.28.19 EVEN MORE... BASS

Fortunate to find the fish where I left them.  Less bunker schools and less fish over all.

6.27.19 EVEN MORE BASS on BUNKER

Light winds and calm seas made finding the bunker pods easy.  We jumped from pod to pod fishing each for 10 mins or less until we found the right ones with fish on them.  It was common to get hit withing the first minute.  Jason from saltyseatee.com connected in a big way to a few REAL HOGS.  I could not give a definite size since the majority of the fish we caught bottomed out the 30lb boga.  I feel lucky and fortunate to have these fish locally, even if it is only for a small amount of time.

6.25.19 More BIG BASS on BUNKER

Took our James and Mikey.  They never had caught a big bass before today.  We headed out into the fog and found bunker schools getting hammered pretty quickly before sunset. The pods were spread out pretty far, but when we found them there was surely bass under them.  These bass were 30+ pounds each.  All were safely released, and swam away STRONG.
